29 Oct – 04 Nov 2023

Are you looking for a way to bring your yoga classes to new heights? Learn to fly and how to bring your yoga classes to the next level by learning how to teach aerial yoga in Portugal. During this special training you will learn everything about aerial yoga so you can perform and teach the basic aerial yoga postures with confidence and ease. Through our aerial yoga teacher training, you’ll develop the skills and confidence needed to teach aerial yoga and become part of a community of aerial yoga experts. The training includes comprehensive instruction in aerial yoga techniques, principles, class sequencing, and how to maximize safety for students. Let our experienced trainer Elke equip you with all the knowledge needed to become a certified aerial yoga instructor and take your teaching career up in the air!

Aerial yoga is a modern form of yoga in which you do the postures with the help of a special cloth or yoga hammock that hangs about a meter above the ground. The hammock supports you so that you can move more freely, balance, swing, float and even hang upside down to work on strength and flexibility both physically and mentally in a playful way. The deep tissue massage because of pushing the cloth on your muscles and connective tissue is included for free. Using gravity also takes the pressure off your joints and spine, relieves tension in your neck and shoulders, and improves your blood flow so you leave class feeling relaxed and refreshed. At the end of each session, you can also fully stretch the hammock like a soft cocoon for a relaxing final relaxation and the ultimate feel-good feeling.

Your teacher will be Elke, an experienced (aerial) yoga teacher from Belgium. Elke has been teaching yoga for more than 10 years and currently runs her own (aerial) yoga studio in her home country Belgium. Her history with Aerial yoga goes back to when she was living in Barcelona and experienced her first flight. It started to give her so much joy and support in her yoga practice on and off that she quickly fell in love with the practice.  She then started her training with the renewed Aerial Yoga Academy and became a certified teacher in regular aerial yoga as well as aerial yin restorative yoga.  When she opened her first yoga studio and retreat centre in Sri Lanka in 2017, she finally got the chance to install an aerial yoga class set up and became one of the first aerial yoga teachers in the country. She learned so much from teaching aerial to people from all ages and levels, that she decided to share her knowledge with others to become aerial yoga teachers and spread aerial yoga love. Welcome at 4elements retreat, Elke!
